Organizers and board members of the Iron Dog snow machine race will meet on Tuesday, August 21st in Anchorage to discuss and possibly determine the fate of the 2019 Iron Dog and the future of the event.
The Iron Dog, since losing its corporate sponsor in 2106, has fallen on financial hard times and according to its Facebook post ” running on empty” with the expenses to put on an Iron Dog race event running over $400,000.
Tuesday’s Iron Dog board of directors meeting will begin with a 30-minute public comment session from 5-5:30 p.m. at the Iron Dog office (7100 Old Seward Highway, Suite C). The public is welcome to participate. Comments and suggestions are also being accepted on the Iron Dog Facebook page at www.irondog.org
