Alaska State Troopers and the the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center conducted a second successful rescue on the Kenai Peninsula this week, this time for an injured hunter.
At 9:11 pm on Wednesday, October 10, the Alaska State Troopers in Seward were notified via an InReach device that an adult male had sustained a leg injury while hunting.
Investigation revealed that 33-year-old John Reid of Wasilla had fallen and sustained a significant injury to his leg and he was not able to walk.
Reid was south of Lowell Point in Seward, near the 1400 foot elevation level of the Spruce Creek Drainage.
Alaska State Troopers requested assistance of the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center, who dispatched a military helicopter to the area.
The helicopter crew located Reid and transported him to an Anchorage area hospital for treatment of his injury.
