Brown Bears Drop Pair Of Divisional Home Games

The Kenai River Brown Bear charity efforts on Friday and Saturday included fundraising for Cancer Awareness Month and handing the Janesville Jets a pair of victories on the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex ice.

 

Kenai River dropped a pair of 2-1 decisions in Midwest Division hockey action, Friday in regulation and Saturday in a shootout.  Kenai River moves to 7-4-0-1 in the North American Hockey League.

 

Brown Bears 1 – Janesville 2

On Friday, the Janesville Jets scored the only goal in the third period to break a 1-1 tie.  Ryan Reid posted the Brown Bears only goal coming in the second period.

Saturday, Kenai River and Janesville played two, scoreless periods before both teams scored single goals in the third period.  Zach Kraznik scored for the Brown Bears.  Following a scoreless overtime, Janesville netted the only goal in the three round shootout.

 

The Kenai River Brown Bears head to Topeka Kansas for a two-game series on Friday and Saturday against the Topeka Pilots.
