After decades of conference battles between Soldotna High and Colony High, the Soldotna Stars, now in Division II hockey and the Railbelt Conference, defeated Northern Lights Conference, Division I Colony, on Friday 4-1.
Alex Montague scored a pair of first period goals; Galen Brantley scored an unassisted goal in the second period and Gavin Hoakenson added a third period goal. Josh Tree recorded 21 saves for the Stars in goal.
SoHi returns to Railbelt Conference action on Tuesday, January 15th with a home contest against the Homer Mariners at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex. SoHi hosts Kenai on Wednesday, January 16th.
