The 2019 ASAA Division I Track & Field Championships opened competition with selected field events, the finals in the 3200M and preliminary qualifying for Saturday’s running finals at Palmer High School on Friday.
The Soldotna Star girls lead the state Division I girls team scoring with 20 points earned in Friday’s field events.
SoHi Girls top performers:
Aliann Schmidt finished second in the high jump with a personal best 5’0″
Itu Tuisaula finished second in the shot put final with a personal best of 41′ 4.5″
Bailey Leach placed seventh in the shot put with a season best 34′ 7.25″
Kylie Ness placed fifth in the long jump with junp of 15′ 4.5″
Morgan Bouschor placed eighth with a personal best of 15′
The Soldotna boys stand in third in the early Division ! boys team scoring with 17 point.

Galen Brantley III placed fifth in the discus with a season best 141′ 2″
Kaleb Swank finished second on a tie-breaker in the boys high jump with a season best 6′ 2″
Tyler Morrisoon placed fifth in the high jump matching his personal best at 5’10”
Trenton O’Reagan placedc fifth in the long jump with personal best 20′ 1.25″
Cody Nye placed seventh with a season best 135′ 3″
