Oilers Close Road Trip With Offensive Barrage Over Chinooks: First Home Stand Set For Wednesday

Double-digit hits, a five-run sixth inning to take the lead and eleven runs in the final four innings pushed the Peninsula Oilers past the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks 11-4 to close the Oilers first road trip on Monday night in Chugiak.

 

The Oilers recorded 18 hits on the night and Oilers pitchers held the Chinooks to only four runs on four hits.  Trailing 3-0 into the sixth inning, the Oilers scored five runs in the sixth, one in the seventh, two in the eighth and three runs in the ninth.  The Oilers end their first road swing with a 2-3 record and ready for the Peninsula Oilers first home contest on Wednesday, June 12th at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

Home Opener Set For June 12th

The first home stand of the season for the Peninsula Oilers, a six-game series against the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks, is scheduled to open Wednesday, June 12th at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai.  Game time set for 7 p.m.

Wednesday is KSRM/ESPN Night at the Ballpark with free admission to the ball park.
