Twins Open Legion Baseball Hosting Chugiak & Eagle River: Post 20 Splits Conference Contests

The American Legion baseball season for the Post 20 Twins opened with a pair of home doubleheaders played at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.  The Twins fell twice to Chugiak on Saturday and split with Eagle River on Sunday.

 

Chugiak 13 – Twins 3

In the conference game on Saturday against Chugiak, the Twins tied the game at 2-2 in the third inning, only to fall behind 5-2 in the fourth and eventually 13-3 for the games.

Chugiak 14 – Twins 8

In the non-conference contest against Chugiak, The Twins and Mustangs put on a scoring display which lead to an 8-6 Twins lead in the sixth inning.  Chugiak scored eight runs in the seventh inning without a base hit, scoring on four errors, walks and hit batters.

Twins 8 – Eagle River 2

The Post 20 Twins recorded their first conference victory of the season with an 8-1 win over Eagle River in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader.  The wolves opened the scoring with a lone run in the third inning; Post 20 answered with three runs in the bottom of the third.  Post 20 added one run in the fourth, two in the fifth and two runs in the sixth; while allowing only one Wolves run.

Eagle River 8 – Twins 1

The Wolves win the non-conference pairing 8-1 on Sunday.
