The 2019 Bill Miller Big Fish Wood Bat Tournament closed competition on July 4th with a bang, a homerun and a brawl.
Auburn 9 – Napoleon 9 Championship Game
In the championship game between Napoleon, Ohio and Auburn, Rhode Island an extra inning home run lead to an emptying of the benches and a 9-9 declared tie; Rhode Island was awarded the trophy on the tournament tiebreaker. With Napoleon leading 9-6 in the 10th inning, Auburn hit a three-run homerun to tie the game and incite a baseball-style brawl. The championship game was then deemed complete and teams were cleared from the field.
Post 20 Twins 14 – Eagle River 2 Third Place Game
The Post 20 Twins defeated Eagle River 14-2 in the Bill Miller Big Fish Wood Bat Tournament third place game. The Twins allowed only two hits in the run-rule, shortened five innings. Jeremy Kupferschmid, Seth Adkins, Chris Jaime and Jacob Boze combined for the win.
The Twins collected 15 hits lead by two hit performances by Tanner Ussing, Jacob Boze and Davey Belger.
Next on the Twins schedule will be a doubleheader against West on Monday, July 8th at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
