Following three dominating performances against two Division I Anchorage opponents and a Southern California power, the Soldotna Stars, 3-0, are primed and ready for their first Division II Alaska opponent Lathrop High School scheduled for SoHi Homecoming Friday Night at Justin Maile Field.

The Stars, through three regular season games, are averaging 48 points per game and have built 30+ point leads in all three games this season. SoHi’s defense has allowed only five touchdowns in three games and recorded eight interceptions. Lathrop is 2-2 on the season with two wins over Division II opponents (Eagle River & North Pole) and currently stands in first place in the Railbelt Conference.

The Nikiski Bulldogs look for their first victory on the road in Ketchikan on Friday with a pairing against the Kings. Nikiski, 0-3, faces a 1-2 Ketchikan team which has a victory over Seward and stands at 1-0 in the Peninsula Conference. Ketchikan plays in the Peninsula Conference to balance Division III–Ketchikan also plays in D-III in-spite-of an enrollment of just under 600 students. Nikiski has totaled only 30 points in three games while allowing 94 points.

Kenai Central’s homecoming football game will feature the 1-2 Kardinals against the 0-3 West Valley Wolfpack on Saturday at Ed Hollier Field.
The Kardinals are 0-1 against Division II opponents. West Valley is struggling through a win-less season following the suspension of six coaches due to a pre-season incident at the UAF pool.
Kenai vs West Valley is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at KCHS.
