Peninsula Conference basketball rivals Cook Inlet Academy and Ninilchik split varsity games on Tuesday at Cook Inlet Academy with the CIA girls defeating Ninilchik 34-29 and the Wolverine boys downing the Eagles 74-54.
CIA Girls 34 – Ninilchik 29
The CIA girls built a 21-10 lead after three quarters and held-off a late charge for a 34-29 Peninsula Conference victory. Anna Henderson and Tatum Rozak each scored nine points for the Eagles; Jade Robuck scored 12 for the Wolverines.
Ninilchik Boys 74 – CIA 54
The Wolverine boys opened a nine-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back in a 74-54 Peninsula Conference win for Ninilchik. Ben Botero led Ninilchik scoring 22 points and Cole Hadro added 20; Mason Zeigler’s recorded 20 points for the Eagles.
