Mariners Shut-Out Kardinals In Railbelt Hockey Showdown

After a scoreless first period of hockey, the Homer Mariners erupted for seven goals and recorded a 7-0 shut-out of the Kenai Kardinals in Railbelt Conference hockey on Saturday at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility.

 

Homer 7 – Kenai 0

Tyler Gilliland recorded a three-goal, hat trick and Aiden Ross added a pair of goals in the Mariners 7-0 victory over Kenai.

Homer opened the scoring with a trio of goals, the first by Ross midway through the second period followed by a pair of Gilliland goals for a 3-0 Homer lead.  Homer scored four, third period goals: one for Gilliland, one for Ross and single goals for Phinny Weston and Kazden Stineff.  Kenai’s Thomas Baker recorded 50 saves; Homer’s Keegan Strong, 24 saves.
