Brown Bears Drop Opener Against Ice Dogs In Junior Hockey

The offense stalled-out for the Kenai River Brown Bears on Thursday night in Fairbanks as the Brown Bears dropped the opening game of a three-game series against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 7-2 at the Big Dipper Arena.

 

Fairbanks’ offense was on track scoring four, first period goals and building a 5-1 lead before allowing a Brown Bear goal by Jack Quinn midway through the second period.  Max Helgeson added a second Kenai River goal, coming in the third period.  Final Score: Ice Dogs 7, Brown Bears 2

 

The Midwest Division leading Ice Dogs (31-9-1-2) host the Brown Bears (24-14-2-3) on Friday and Saturday at the Patty Center in Fairbanks with game times scheduled for 7:30 p.m. each night.

The Ice Dogs lead the Ravn Cup Series standings 3-1.
