The first week of February is recognized nationwide as National School Counseling Week, a time to appreciate school counselors in all levels of schools. This year’s celebration is titled School Counselors: Helping Build Better Humans, according to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).
This year’s goal is to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Superintendent John O’Brien: “Well, we’ve started off by taking this time to remind everyone that the first week of February is National School Counseling Week. We have a great and amazing team of school counselors in this district. We’re very fortunate in that. So, if you see a school counselor this week, please take some time and help us celebrate National Counseling Week with them. I hope that our school counselors have an amazing week. Please know that you are appreciated.”
