With only four weekends remaining in the regular season for high school basketball, central peninsula teams’ schedules include conference and non-conference pairings.
SoHi @ Wasilla Northern Lights Conference
The Soldotna Stars traveled to Wasilla for Northern Lights Conference games against the Wasilla Warriors on Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Stars face a powerful Wasilla team which defeated the Stars at the Lady Lynx tournament last weekend. SoHi stands at 3-0 in the NLC with wins over Kodiak and Palmer. The Warrior girls stand at 4-0 in the Northern Lights Conference.
Friday, February 14
SoHi Girls 29 – Wasilla 43
Wasilla opened with a 22-point first quarter and lead 28-13 at the half. Itu Tuisaula lead the SoHi girls with 10 points.
SoHi Boys 42 – Wasilla 51
The SoHi boys fell behind 12-5 in the first quarter and trailed 25-13 at the half. SoHi rallied with a 17-point, third quarter and trailed by only four points in the third. Wasilla extended to a 12-point lead and topped the Stars 51-42. SoHi drops to 2-2 in the Northern Lights Conference; Wasilla improves to 2-3 in the NLC.

Kenai Boys @ Homer Southcentral Conference
The Kenai boys journied to Homer on Friday for a single, Southcentral Conference game against the Homer Mariners. Kenai owns 2-2 SCC record with victories over Nikiski and the Mariners. Homer stands at 1-3 in the Southcentral Conference.

Nikiski @ Nome
The Nikiski girls and boys teams travel back to Western Alaska (Nikiski was at Kotzebue tournament just a couple weeks ago) to face the Nome Nanooks in a two-day, non-conference series in Nome. The Bulldogs, Southcentral Conference, and Nome, Western Conference, both play in the 3A division of Alaska basketball.
