Lance Mackey, formerly of Kasilof, crossed the finish line in Nome on Thursday at 3:06 p.m. recording a race time of 11 days, 1 hour, 6 minutes and becoming the third peninsula musher to finish the 2020 Iditarod.
Mitch Seavey of Seward, with a late push and strong final legs into Nome, finished second overall completing the race in 9 days, 16 hours, 15 minutes, 38 seconds.
Seward’s Travis Beals turned in a top-10 finish in 2020, following a 5th place finish in 2019.

Norway’s Thomas Waerner arrived under the Burled Arch in Nome at 12:37 a.m. on Wednesday morning to claim first place in the Iditarod. Waerner recorded a total race time of 9 days, 10 hours, 37 minutes, and 47 seconds.
