Community running and racing events which serve as fundraising events for many organizations on the Kenai Peninsula have been re-imagined as virtual events for 2020. Most still involve physical activity and still function to support area organizations.
Updates on event status will be collected and distributed through radiokenai.com.

2020 Run For The River June 13th
The 2020 running of the Run for the River will provide an option to… Not.
The Run for the River is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th and will include a virtual (non-gathering) run and an option to not run.
Runners are encouraged to register at kenaiwatershed.org and then enjoy their favorite 5K or 10-mile trail, path or road right outside your front door, or at your local park, running trails, bike path, wherever, to support the 2020 Run for the River.
Non-Runners can support the 2020 Run for the River by registering and not running/walking.
All runners and non-runners will receive a T-shirt as part of their registration. T-shirts will be available TBA for pick-up at the Kenai Watershed Forum office in Soldotna Creek Park. T-shirts will be mailed to all out of area registrants.
All registrants will be placed in a drawing for a Free 2021 Run for the River registration!
From the Kenai Watershed, “Run for the River is an important component to the annual Kenai River Festival. The 2020 Kenai River Festival was cancelled in an effort to prioritize the health of our staff, volunteers, vendors and attendees during this difficult time as we work together to flatten the curve and protect the things we hold most dear. The Kenai Watershed Forum appreciates your support of our organization, the Kenai River Festival, AND Run for the River! Check out the Run for the River facebook page for updates and info about a contest we will be doing as part of the Virtual Run for the River!”
