One New Kenai Peninsula COVID-19 Case

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services announced 12 new resident cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. One of the cases is in Soldotna.

 

Among the other cases, two are in the Municipality of Anchorage, four in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, one in Juneau City and Borough, one in the Ketchikan Gateway Borough, and three in the Mat-Su Borough. This brings the total number of Alaska cases to 708.

 

Alaska’s active case count is now 247. As the counts rise, Alaska remains in its “highest active case count” status. 52 of those active cases are on the Kenai Peninsula.

 

The state reports that 18 Alaskans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, or are suspected of having it. This is a decrease of five from Wednesday.

 

A total of 81,185 tests have been conducted, including 4,361 in the Kenai Peninsula.
