Alaska 20 Twins Drop 4-1 Contest To American Division Leader South

Alliance Baseball of Alaska closed the second week of the regular season with the Alaska Twins battling South Anchorage in American Division play at Bartlett High School on Sunday.

 

South Anchorage improved to 3-1 in league play with a 4-1 victory over the Alaska 20 Twins (1-2).

 

South 4 – Twins 1  League Game

South Anchorage opened the scoring with a two-run, third inning for a 2-0 lead.  The Twins answered with a lone run in the fifth inning, which proved to be the only run for the Twins.  South added two runs in the sixth inning.

Moses Hayes, on the mound for the Twins, went 5 1/3 innings and allowed three runs (one earned run) while striking out six batters.  At the plate, the Twins collected four hits with Sam Berry recording the only RBI, driving home Davey Belger in the fifth inning.

 

South 11 – Twins 1  Non-League Game

South defeated the Twins 11-1 in the non-league game on the strength of a six-run, second inning.

Live Baseball On ESPN 1140AM

ESPN 1140 AM continues the summer baseball broadcast season with coverage of the Alaska 20 Twins league contest against Eagle River on Wednesday, July 1st.  The league game will be broadcast on 1140AM and streamed live at www.radiokenai.com.  Game time is set for 1:30; broadcast pre-game show begins at 1:15 p.m.

Coverage of the Twins will include league road and home games and state tournament games in July.
