CARES Act Relief Fund community open houses, to help potential applicants for CARES Act grants, are being held throughout the Peninsula this month. The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly approved $15 Million from the CARES Act Relief Fund to be distributed to eligible small businesses and nonprofits on June 16.
Applications are currently being accepted, with the application period closing July 24.
An applicant business or nonprofit must be physically located within the Borough, but not within the boundaries of the incorporated cities. Examples of incorporated cities include Homer, Kachemak, Kenai, Seldovia, Seward, and Soldotna. Examples of unincorporated areas include Anchor Point, Hope, Fritz Creek, Ninilchik, among others.

- Cooper Landing at the Sunrise Inn, Monday July 13th at 5:00 p.m.
- Sterling at the Sterling Community Center, Tuesday July 14th at 5:00 p.m.
- Hope at the Hope Social Hall, Wednesday July 15th at 5:00 p.m.
- Lowell Point at the Penny Hardy Community Center, Thursday, July 16, at 9:00 a.m.
- Bear Creek at the Bear Creek Fire Station, Thursday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m.
- Moose Pass at the Community Center, Thursday July 16 at 6:00 p.m.
- Ninilchik at the Ninilchik Senior Center, Friday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m.
- Fritz Creek at Kachemak Emergency Services Friday, July 17 at 4:00 p.m.
- Anchor Point at the Anchor Point Senior Center Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m.
- KBeach at Love INC of the Kenai Peninsula Monday, July 20 at 5:00 p.m.
- Nikiski at North Peninsula Recreation Tuesday, July 21 at 5:00 p.m.
- Kasilof / Cohoe at CES Fire Station #6 Wednesday, July 22 at 5:00 p.m.
The program is open to all qualifying businesses and nonprofit organizations, regardless of whether they have applied for or have obtained any other state or federal COVID-19 related assistance. The organizations must only be able to provide proof upon request that the borough-provided relief funds have been applied to receipts for expenses not previously requested and received through any other local, state, or federal assistance.
