Twins Open ABL State Tournament Pool Play Against Eagle River On Friday

The Alaska 20 Twins, based on regular season records and points accumulated, earned one of eight Alliance of Alaska Baseball state tournament berths and open play on Friday.

 

The Twins are the #7 seed for the tournament and open play against #3 Eagle River on Friday, July 24th at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage.  The Twins (Alyeska bracket) will play the #3 seed Eagle River in the 5:00 p.m. game.  The first four days of the tournament are pool-play with the teams divided into Denali and Alyeska brackets.

10:00 a.m. Juneau vs. West

1:30 p.m.  Chugiak vs. South

5:00 p.m. Kenai vs. Eagle River

8:15 p.m. Wasilla vs. Dimond

11:00am Kenai vs. South
2:30pm Wasilla vs. West
6:00pm Juneau vs. Dimond
OFF DAY Eagle River, Chugiak

Alliance Baseball League State Qualifiers

The top two teams in the American Division and the top two teams in the National Division earn automatic berths into the Alliance Baseball state tournament.  The next four teams, regardless of division, with the most total points earn at-large berths.

American Division 

South Anchorage  8-2   34 pts.   Automatic qualifier

Eagle River    8-2    34 pts.  Automatic qualifier

National Division   

Dimond   8-2     34 pts.   Automatic qualifier

West Anchorage    7-3    31 pts.     Automatic qualifier

At-Large Qualifiers

Wasilla    6-4    28 pts.

Chugiak    6-4    28 pts.

Kenai 20 Twins    5-5     25 pts.

Juneau     5-5    25 pts.

Note:  Juneau defeated North Pole 3-2 in the final game on Sunday to earn the final position in the state tournament.
