Six Positive COVID Cases Reported Over Weekend

The Department of Health and Social Services today announced 229 new people identified with positive COVID-19 tests in Alaska over the weekend. The Kenai Peninsula saw six reported cases in Saturday and Sunday’s update. Three were residents in Seward, two in Kenai and one was reported in Soldotna.

 

The majority of the state’s new cases came from Anchorage where 117 residents tested positive over the weekend.

 

There are currently 4,252 active cases of COVID-19 among Alaska residents, 176 of those cases are residents of the Kenai Peninsula. Among the current active cases, 62 are in Soldotna, 51 in Kenai, 30 in Homer, 11 in Sterling and 4 in Seward.

 

According to the Department of Health and Social Services, the estimated daily growth rate is 1.39%.
