The Nikiski Bulldog football team will face-off against the 2019 Division III state champion Houston Hawks in the first round of the 2020 ASAA Division III Football Championships on Saturday, October 10th, hosting the playoff game at Nikiski High School. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

The Bulldogs earned the #2 Peninsula berth to the state football playoffs with a victory over Seward in the regular season. The Homer Mariners are the #1 seed from the Peninsula and receive a first-round bye. Houston is awarded the #2 Mat-Su berth; Mat-Su has only two teams in Division III football. Monroe also receives a bye as the top team from the Aurora; Valdez is the #2 Aurora team and will host Redington, Mat-Su’s #1 seed.

ASAA Board approved guidelines: The location of the semi-final games will be determined by a committee made up of a representative of each school districts and ASAA. Consideration will be based on traditional seeding criteria, community COVID alert levels and other factors. A coin-flip may be used to determine the host.
