Flocking From The Kenai To Hawai’i? Get COVID-Tested With Hawaii’s “Trusted Partners”

Brr! It’s cold on the Kenai, if you have not stepped outside lately. For those planning to remote-start their cars from inside a warm home to take a toasty ride up to Anchorage culminating in a winter holiday flight in Hawai’i, getting a pre-flight COVID-19 test with the right provider will prevent travelers from being stuck in the winter misery.

The State of Hawai‘i has allocated several “trusted partners” for its domestic transpacific and inter-county pre-travel testing. The state will accept COVID-19 test results from the new partners, exclusively. In Alaska, the biggest name of note is Capstone Clinic. Capstone has six full-service health care facility locations on Alaska’s road system and at the Ted Stevens International Airport. For Kenai residents, they have a location in front of Three Bears on the Kenai Spur Highway.

Dennis Spencer, CEO of Capstone Clinic, says that Capstone is pleased to be selected as a partner by the state of Hawai’i: “The state of Hawai’i is taking the pandemic very seriously, just like the state of Alaska is. They want to make sure the travelers coming into the state have been tested and have been tested by a reliable source. Capstone is happy to make sure we can provide that testing.”

Testing will need to be taken no more than 72 hours before a flight’s departure time. For those with multi-city flight itineraries, the departure time is from the last city before arriving at a Hawai‘i airport. Hawai’i’s full list of trusted testing partners can be found here.
