AK DOT: Don’t Get Turned Around At The Border

Author: Anthony Moore |

Due to Canada’s current travel restrictions for U.S. citizens, The Department of Transportation says that Alaskans should be aware that only essential travel is allowed until further notice.

The Canadian government recognizes the following travel as essential:

  • To college (with documentation and no escort)
  • To a primary residence (with evidence of residency)
  • To a new job (with proof of employment)
  • Military deployment (with orders listing dependents if applicable)

For more information, please contact the Canada Border Services Agency hotline at 1-800-461-9999, or visit:
http://dot.alaska.gov/covid19info/canadian-border.shtml.

🍁NOTE: All decisions to permit entry into Canada are made at the border on a case-by-case basis. You cannot confirm travel eligibility by phone.
