Those who recently bought a carton of Lean Cuisine brand Baked Chicken with stuffing, red skin mashed potatoes and gravy: it is time to take it out of the freezer and look to return the meal to your grocer. Alaska is confirmed to be one of the states where the recalled product was shipped to.
Nestlé Prepared Foods says that over 92,000 pounds of the meals may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of hard white plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The problem was discovered on December 18 after Nestlé received five consume complaints involving plastic found in the meals. Nestlé believes the mashed potatoes used in the production of the meals had a plastic conveyor belt that broke during production.
It is recommended that these meals be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
