The Soldotna Star girls advance to 3-0 through the first week of the revised basketball regular season; the Kenai boys also sprint to a 3-0 start on the boys basketball side. Surprisingly, the SoHi boys drop a third-straight contest on Tuesday night.
Kenai Girls 33 – Seward 29
The Kardnial girls held-off Seward 33-29 lead by an 18-point effort by Emma Beck.
Kenai Boys 59 – Seward 57
A 23-point, fourth quarter for the Seward boys pull the Seahawks to within a basket with Kenai holding-on for a 59-57 victory on Tuesday at KCHS. Jordan Kvasnikoff scored 19 points for Kenai and Jacob Kvasnikoff added 13. Seward’s Max Pfeiffenberger lead all scorers with 28 points.
SoHi Girls 56 – Homer 17
The Star girls produced a third, 20-point plus victory on Tuesday with a 56-17 win over the Homer Mariners at Soldotna High School. Senior Morgan Bouschor scored 19 points to lead the Stars and Autumn Fischer added 11 points.
Homer boys 43, Soldotna 40
The SoHi boys trailed at the half 22-17, closed the gap in the third quarter to a two-point difference at 32-30; however, SoHi could not build a lead and fell 43-40 to the Homer Mariners. Ethan Sewell again lead the Stars, scoring 12 points; Homer’s Clayton Beachy poured in 14 points for the Mariners.
