Update 4:38 p.m.: HEA reports that the outage is making progress, with it now only impacting around 200 residents.
Original Story: For those living in the Kasilof River region, south of Sunset Bluff, if things went went dark this afternoon, you are not alone. Homer Electric Association confirmed the outage for 1,233 members in the area on Thursday afternoon. No estimated time is yet available for a return to service.
Bruce Shelley of HEA said to check their Facebook page for details on not only the return to service, but also the reason for the outage, once they discover what caused it. Winds are gusty, as of the publication of this article.
