The Soldotna boys basketball team evened the score following an earlier road loss to the Nikiski boys with a 45-30 win at SoHi on Saturday. The Soldotna girls remain unbeaten in peninsula play with a 53-17 dismantling of the Bulldog girls.
SoHi Girls 53 – Nikiski 17
The Soldotna girls again overpowered an opponent with defense as the SoHi girls defeated Nikiski 53-17, holding Nikiski without a field goal in the first half.
Drysta Crosby-Schneider lead the Stars with 11; eleven different SoHi players scored for the Stars. Lillian Carstens topped the Bulldogs with five points.
The Lady Stars stand at 9-0 on the regular season; the Bulldog girls fall to 2-7.
SoHi Boys 45 – Nikiski 30
The Stars jumped to a 20-10 first quarter lead enroute to a 45-30 victory over the Bulldog boys on Saturday. Nikiski twice closed the gap on the Stars, drawing to within three at the half 25-22. SoHi outscored Nikiski 20-8 in the second half lead by Nate Johnson’s 19 points, including three 3-pointers in the first half. Austin Sutton lead the Bulldogs with 8 points. The SoHi boys stand at 2-7 and Nikiski stands a 1-8 on the season.
