62-year-old Robert Keldson of Kenai was arrested by Alaska State Troopers in the early morning hours on Saturday, February 13.
Troopers attempted to pull him over for moving violations, but continued to erratically drive and elude the arresting officers. After attempting to avoid a tire deflation device, he rammed into a state trooper vehicle and was prevented from escaping. Keldson was arrested for first degree failure to stop at the direction of a police officer, third degree criminal mischief, third degree assault on a police officer and driving under the influence.
Two Alaska State Trooper vehicles sustained minor functional damage. Keldson’s breath alcohol concentration was over two and a half times the limit at .217. He was remanded at the Wildwood Pretrial facility.
