The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District reports that there will be no school for students due to parent-teacher conferences Thursday and Friday, February 18 and 19th. Also, as a result of those parent-teacher Conferences, today will be an early release day for students. School, however, will be in session for K-Selo, Razdolna, and Vozesnka schools on February 18 and school will be in session both the 18 and 19th for Nikolaevsk School.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to boost family involvement in the classroom and to help promote positive outcomes for the school and the students. A parent-teacher conference is an opportunity to share academic progress based on test results and classroom observations and homework. Conferences also are an opportunity for teachers to learn from parents about the students needs, behaviors and learning styles as well as issues standing in the way of the students’ learning and growth.
The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District reports that the symptom free school protocol remains in effect till further notice, that includes the COVID mitigation protocols instructing visitors, staff and students of all ages to wear a mask and to practice social distancing as well as frequent hand washing.
