Kenai City Council Scheduled To Meet Tonight At 6PM

The Kenai City Council is scheduled to meet tonight at 6:00 p.m. virtually through Zoom and in-person at the Council Chambers.

 

There are 12 items listed under the Public Hearings section of tonight’s agenda, which includes amending city municipal code for business hours and hours of work to allow for alternate work schedules in the police department, awarding a professional services contract at the Kenai Municipal Airport for security guard services, and further extending the Disaster Emergency Declaration for the City in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Several of the aforementioned items include increasing estimated revenues and appropriations for several funds regarding projects, one includes providing assistance to residents impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency for groceries and necessary household goods.

 

There are also multiple consent agenda items to be considered under the New Business section of the agenda, which includes accepting and appropriating an increase in the Title III Grant from the DHSS for Nutrition, Transportation and Support Services and a Special Use Permit to the State of Alaska – Division of Forestry for apron parking.

 

There also will be a discussion on the city’s COVID-19 response and several action approval items to confirm vacant positions nominated by the mayor and a letter supporting the Bluff Erosion Project Funding.
