The 2021 ASAA Alaska State Basketball Championships for 1A and 2A basketball open play at four different venues in the Palmer-Wasilla area on Thursday, April 1st. and run through Championship Saturday on April 3rd at Palmer High School.
Teams from throughout Alaska represent seven different conferences in the 1A classification (boys and girls) and three different conferences (boys and girls) in the 2A classification.
The Peninsula Conference, which includes up to ten 1A schools from the Kenai Peninsula, Anchorage and Mat-Su, is represented by Lumen Christi of Anchorage in both the girls and boys 1A tournaments. Only four girls teams and five boys teams entered the 2021 Peninsula Conference Tournament, and as a result, only one automatic berth to the 1A state tournaments (girls and boys) was awarded.
