Four Peninsula Girls Compete For U-19 National Championship

The Alaska All-Stars 19U girls hockey team will represent Alaska at the 2021 USA Hockey National Championships with four Kenai Peninsula athletes on the Alaska roster.

 

The Alaska All-Stars open play on Thursday, April 29 at the Family Sports Center in Denver, Colorado with a 1 p.m. (Central) game against the Maine Gladiators.

 

Peninsula players include:

JulieAnn Nye: SoHi sophomore and member of the Stars hockey team

Fiona Hatton: Homer High School Junior and member of Homer Division II State Championship team

Haylee Owen: Homer High School Senior and member of Homer Division II State Championship team

Anna Shelden: Brown University freshman, listed as from Kenai, Alaska (received COVID-19 exemption to play)

 

The 2021 USA Hockey National Championships run until the championship game on Monday, May 3rd in Denver, Colorado.

 

A total of eight youth teams from Alaska are scheduled to play in national tournaments, including four girls teams and four boys teams:

  • 14U Tier II girls: Anchorage North Stars
  • 16U Tier II girls: South Anchorage Oilers
  • 16U Tier II girls: Anchorage North Stars
  • 19U Tier II girls: Alaska All Stars
  • 14U Tier II boys: Alaska Stars
  • 16U Tier II boys: Valley Thunder
  • 18U Tier II boys: Alaska Oilers
  • 15O Tier I boys: Team Alaska

Other Kenai Peninsula athletes may be members of one of the above listed teams.
