Peninsula Conference soccer action on Monday at Kenai Central featured a defensive battle between the SoHi girls and Kardinal girls and a late offensive surge by the Star boys against the Kenai boys at KCHS.
SoHi 2 – Kenai 0
The Soldotna girls defense held Kenai in-check and SoHi’s Rhys Cannava recorded a pair of goals for a 2-0 SoHi victory over the Kardinals in Peninsula Conference soccer.
Cannava scored both goals in the first half and the SoHi defense made the 2-0 lead hold-up in the second half. Sunny Miller recorded the shutout in goal for the Stars.
Kenai 3 – SoHi 3
The Stars rallied from a three-goal deficit in the second half to manage a 3-3 tie against the Kardinals in Peninsula Conference soccer action on Monday.
Kenai opened the scoring with goals by Leif Lofquist and Lucas Tunseth. Lofquist added a second goal in the first half for a 3-0 Kenai advantage.
The Stars found their offense in the second half with an opening goal by Maleda Denbrock (assist by Trenton O’Reagan) and a pair of Trenton O’Reagan goals to close the scoring. Final score: Kenai 3 – SoHi 3.
