The Kenai Kardinals, Nikiski Bulldogs and Homer Mariners joined teams from throughout Alaska in competition at the 2021 ASAA Division II State Track & Field Championships, held at Dimond High School.
ASAA Division II State Track & Field Championships: Kenai Peninsula
Kenai Central
Kenai senior Maison Dunham won the 400M Dash in 52:37 and finished second in the 800M run, breaking the two-minute mark at 1:59.75.
Kenai’s Aiden Arness finished third in the boys Shot Put; Denali Bernard placed third in the girls Shot Put. Emilee Wilson placed third in the Triple Jump, 5th in the 800M and 6th in the 400M for the Kardinals.
Nikiski
For the Nikiski Bulldogs, Bailey Epperheimer placed second in both the girls High Jump and 300M Hurdles.
The Nikiski girls are state champions in the 4X200M Relay and runner-up in the 4X10M Relay.
Homer
Laura Inama lead the Mariners with a championship in the 300M Hurdles.
Gracie Gummer placed second in the 400M Dash.
The ACS Boys and Sitka Girls earned the team championships for Division II Track and Field.
