The Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development will hold a regular quarterly meeting and a professional development workshop on June 9-10 via Zoom.
Topics at the work session include a presentation regarding the UAS teacher preparation program, a presentation regarding the UAA School of Education Early Childhood BA, a Legislative and Budget Update, a discussion regarding the Adoption of English Language Proficiency Standards Regulations and English Language Exit Criteria Regulations. The board will also discuss the Mt. Edgecumbe High School’s advisory board appointments as well as their credit requirement updates.
Topics at the business meeting include adopting of the English Language Proficiency Standards regulations and English Language Exit Criteria regulations, approving the Mt. Edgecumbe High School advisory board appointments, the Mt. Edgecumbe high School credit requirements as well as standing reports from department divisions and the commissioner.
The work session will begin at 1:00p.m. on June 9, 2021, and the quarterly board meeting will begin on June 10, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend this meeting by joining online through the digital platform Zoom or by joining via phone.
