Brown Bears Avoid Elimination With 2-0 Shutout Of Minnesota

Two, third period goals pushed the Kenai River Brown Bears past the Minnesota Magicians 2-0 in game three of the Midwest Division finals on Friday in Blaine, Minnesota.

 

Trailing in the best of five series 0-2 and facing elimination, the Brown Bears scored late in the contest with a goal by Max Helgeson and a goal by Gramm McCormack in the third period.  Luke Pavicich recorded the shutout in goal recording 32 saves.

 

Kenai River hosts Minnesota on Saturday in game four of the series, a second-straight must-win game for the Brown Bears.  Game time scheduled for 4 p.m. Alaska Time.  A win for Kenai River will force a winner-take-all, game five on Sunday, June 13th at the Richfield Ice Arena.
