District 30 Rep. Ron Gillham has shared a Facebook post linking getting the COVID-19 vaccination to the public hangings at Nuremburg, Germany. The Facebook post had been deemed misleading by AFP Fact Check. The post was shared on June 21st.

The caption of the photo reads: “Members of the media who lied and misled the German People were executed, right along with Medical Doctors and Nurses who participated in medical experiments using living people as guinea pigs. Those who forget the past are condemned to relive it.”

The picture was hidden from Facebook timelines, saying that it’s a photograph that shows violent or graphic content. You can still, however, still click to see the photo.

According to AFP Fact Check, which is a digital verification fact-checking organization for social media across the world, says that the post is misleading. According to this fact checking organization, the picture in question shows a public hanging in Kiev, Ukraine, not Nuremburg, Germany. Also, only one member of the media was executed as part of the Nuremburg trials, according to an expert.

Gillham also ‘liked’ a Facebook comment responding to his post saying, “Exactly…FB covered this photo…afraid of people thinking for themselves.

Rep. Gillham and his office have not responded to requests for information. Gillham has since deleted the social media post.
