Oilers Held Scoreless In 2-0 Pilots Victory

Pitching again dominated in Alaska Baseball League action between the Peninsula Oilers and the Anchorage Glacier Pilots; the Pilots downing the Oilers 2-0 on Thursday at Mulcahy Park.

 

Pilots 2 – Oilers 0

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots scored two runs on their first two hits of the game coming in the fifth inning, breaking-up a 4.1 inning no-hitter by Oilers starter Jake Putnam, who left the game allowing only one hit.  The Oilers relievers combined to allow no runs on six hits to close out the game.

The Oilers offense gathered six hits; however, left eight runners on base and recorded 12 strikeouts.

 

The Oilers face the Anchorage Bucs on Friday, July 2nd at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
