Injured Man Rescued From Harding Icefield Trail Last Week

Alaska State Troopers received report on Thursday, July 15th around 2:00 p.m. that there was an inured hiker on the Harding Ice Field trail in the Kenai Fjords National Park. An unidentified 74-year-old male suffered a head injury in a fall and was being helped at the scene by an ER doctor who had been hiking the trail.

 

According to the online trooper dispatch, Alaska State Trooper HELO 3 transported a trooper to a landing zone approximately a quarter of a mile from the injured male. The trooper and two National Park Service Rangers assisted the male back to the helicopter.

 

The male was transported to an area medical facility for further care. No word on his condition.
