Kardinals Open Full Volleyball Week With Victory Over Sitka

The Kenai Kardinals volleyball team made quick work of Southeast power Sitka in three-straight games on Wednesday night at KCHS, opening four-straight days of volleyball for the Kardinals.

The Kardinals will host Bethel on Thursday and are scheduled to play in the Shayna Pritchard Memorial Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

 

Kenai 3 – Sitka 0

The Kardinals, after a fast start and an 11-4 lead,  held off Sitka in game one 25-22.  Game two and game three were controlled by the Kards with Kenai winning 25-15 and 25-16.  Kenai’s serving proved the difference with Erin Koziczkowski and Andie Galloway recording five service aces and Emma Beck added three aces.  The three Kards also added six kills each in a balanced Kenai attack.

 

Kenai vs Bethel volleyball is scheduled for a varsity-only match at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

 

The Shayna Pritchard Memorial Tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 27th and 28th at Nikiski High School.

Teams Attending: Bethel, Kenai, Kotzebue, Nikiski, Sitka and Soldotna
Friday: Pool Play, Two games to 25, Win / Loss by score recorded.  Ties broken by total offensive points.
