The Kenai Kardinals, looking for their first victory, host the Homer Mariners in a DIII Mid-Alaska Conference pairing at Kenai Central High School on Friday, September 17th.  Varsity game is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Both Kenai and Homer have struggle to score against recent opponents and will both look to post a conference win with only two weeks remaining in the regular season.  Kenai fell 68-14 to unbeaten Redington and Homer dropped a 42-0 game to Houston in week five action.

Nikiski @ Redington   Friday, September 17th   7 p.m.   Broadcast on KSRM 920AM

The Bulldogs will attempt to bounce back from a 28-26 loss to the Seward Seahawks last Friday, when Nikiski travels on Friday to face the 4-0 Redington Huskies in Division III football at Redington High School in the Mat-Su Valley.  Varsity game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Nikiski will need to contain a Huskies offense that scored 68 points last week and is averaging 49.5 points per game.  Redington has locked in one of three playoff positions in the Mid-Alaska Conference.  Nikiski stands behind Monroe, 3-0 in conference play, for the one playoff spot allotted to the Denali Conference.

SoHi @ Eagle River   Saturday, September 18th   5 p.m.   Broadcast on ESPN 1140AM

The Northern Lights Conference championship and #1 seed into the ASAA Division II Football Playoffs may be on the line on Saturday when Soldotna High School faces Eagle River at Eagle River High.  Varsity game is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Stars and Wolves are both unbeaten in NLC games with SoHi posting victories over Chugiak and Palmer; Eagle River sports wins over Palmer and Wasilla.

A win will put one team in control for the #1 seed with the Stars still to play Wasilla and Eagle River with Chugiak remaining on the schedule.  The Northern Lights Conference is allotted two spots into the Division II state playoffs.

The Soldotna Stars, after a week one loss to Lathrop, have recorded three-straight victories including wins over Chugiak, Service and Palmer.  SoHi is averaging 43 points per game in their victories; Eagle River is averaging 28.5 points per game in wins against DII opponents.  A loss on Saturday for the Stars would set-up a must-win for SoHi next week against Wasilla.
