The Cook Inlet Academy Soccer team recorded a 5-1 co-ed soccer Borealis Conference victory over Lumen Christi on Saturday, according to Head Coach Kenny Leaf, the first-ever home conference game played on the Eagles’ home field.
Noah Castenholz recorded a four-goal, hat trick for the Eagles; one goal to tie the game at 1-1 at the half and three goals in the second half. Gavin Liles recorded the win in goal.
The Cook Inlet Academy soccer team secured the 3rd seed to the 8-team Borealis Conference Tournament with a record of 8-2-1. The Borealis Conference tournament is the season-ending event for co-ed soccer and serves as the ASAA state championship event.
CIA will face the 6th-seeded Nenana Lynx in the first round of the Borealis Conference championships at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 30 at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.
