Sen. Murkowski Announces Federal Grants To Alaska

$2.5 million is set to come to the city of Kenai from the Federal Highway Administration to address 2012 flooding, according to a press release from the office of Senator Lisa Murkowski.

 

Several grants were announced that benefit the Kenai Peninsula, including $2 million from the Federal Highway Administration that will go toward the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities in response to the 2018 flooding in the Kenai Peninsula Borough and the City of Seward. The region will benefit from a $20.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to the DOT&PF to address the November 30, 2018, earthquake affecting Anchorage, Southcentral, and Mat-Su areas.

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award Seward a grant of $1,117,814 for the City of Seward Health Center Cluster Program.

 

In addition, schools and school meal program operators will benefit from a $3,642,464 grant from the USDA’s Supply Chain Assistance Fund to help with supply chain challenges brought on by the pandemic.
