The Soldotna Stars first home contest of the season paired the Stars with Northern Lights Conference powerhouse Wasilla at Soldotna High School on Friday night, the first of a two-day homestand.
Wasilla Girls 61 – SoHi Girls 18
The Wasilla Warrior girls dominated the SoHi girls holding the Stars to five field goals and only 18 points in a 61-18 victory foe Wasilla. The Warriors lead 45-13 at the half and Bella Hays topped Wasilla with 19 points.
Wasilla Boys 77 – SoHi Boys 66
The Stars played close to Wasilla, trailing 17-16 after one quarter and 39-34 at the half; however Wasilla gradually pulled away for a 77-66 NLC victory. Ethan Sewell lead the Stars with 26 points;; Wasilla’s Arthur Adams scored 27 for the Warriors.
SoHi and Wasilla return to the court on Saturday at SoHi with varsity games set for 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
