The Ninilchik Invitational Basketball Tournament continued Friday with games adjusted for teams unable to make the tournament. The field includes girls and boys teams from Klawock, Tri-Valley and Ninilchik and the Bristol Bay boys. Nanwalek was scheduled to join the tournament on Friday; however, was unable to travel to Ninilchik in time for a 2 p.m. contest.

…The Ninilchik boys built a 56-16 lead at the half en route to a 93-35 win over Tri-Valley. Cole Moore lead the Wolverines with 24 points and Jaylin Scott added 18 points.

The three-day, round-robin tournament runs Thursday through Saturday in the Ninilchik School gym. Klawock, Tri-Valley and Bristol Bay represent 1A basketball and Ninilchik, reclassified in 2021-22, now stands in 2A basketball.
