SoHi Senior Night Brings Stars Victories On Home Court

The Soldotna Stars closed-out their final home stand with non-divisional victories over the Seward Seahawks on Thursday at Soldotna High School for the SoHi Senior Night.

 

SoHi Girls 35 – Seward 23

The SoHi girls defense held Seward in-check through out the girls varsity contest with the Stars allowing only eight, first half points.  SoHi lead 20-8 at the half and 25-14 after three quarters on their way to a 35-23 non-conference victory.  Katelynn Morrison lead the Stars with 10 points and Ellie Burns and Josie Sheridan added eight point each.

SoHi Boys 50 – Seward 36

The Soldotna boys slowly pulled-away for the Seahawks in the first half and maintained the lead through the second half as SoHi downed Seward 50-36 in non-conference basketball.  The 3A Seahawks trailed 25-11 at the half to the 4A Stars and SoHi extended the lead to 37-21 after three quarters.

 

SoHi closes the regular season on Saturday with a trip to Palmer to face the Moose in Northern Lights Conference play.  The SoHi girls stand at 2-7 in the NLC and will be the #5 seed into the Northern Lights Conference tournament.  The SoHi boys are 0-9 in conference play and own the #6 seed into the six-team Northern Lights Conference tournament scheduled for March 17-19 at Palmer High School.  Saturday games are set for 1:30 and 3 p.m. at Palmer High School.
