Bulldogs Fall To Huskies In Non-Conference Basketball

The Nikiski Bulldogs closed a three-day, road swing with a pair of losses at Redington High School on Saturday.

 

Nikiski Girls 15 – Redington 45

Redington opened with a 22-3 first-quarter run and dominated play in a 45-15 rout of the Bulldog girls at Redington on Saturday.  Redington held Nikiski scoreless in the third quarter after allowing only one field goal in the first half: Nikiski trailed 45-4 after three quarters.

Nikiski Boys 58 – Redington 75

A quick 23-3 lead for the Redington Huskies holds-up for a 75-58 Huskies victory in non-conference basketball.  The Bulldogs scored 19, 15 and 21 to close-out the game.  Dillon Hansen scored 18 and Brady Bostic added 17 for the Bulldogs.

 

3A Peninsula Conference Tournament

The Kenai Kardinals will host the 3A Peninsula Conference basketball tournament with play beginning on Thursday, March 10th.  The Nikiski Bulldogs and Seward Seahawks open the boys bracket at noon on Thursday and #1 seed Grace Christian plays the winner of the Nikiski/Seward game at 8 p.m. on Thursday.  The Kenai boys will be the #3 seed into the boys bracket and open with a 4 p.m. game against #2 seed Homer.

The Grace girls are the #1 seed and will play at 6 p.m. at KCHS.  The Nikiski girls open at 10 a.m. on Thursday against the Homer Mariners.  The Kenai girls earn the #2 seed and will face #3 Seward in the tournament’s 2 p.m. game on Thursday at KCHS.

 

All tournament games will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM, 96.9FM and streamed live at radiokenai.com.
