The annual Sweeney’s St. Patrick’s Day parade. hosted by the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Friday, March 17th through the residential streets of Soldotna. Individuals and groups wishing to join the parade are encouraged to prepare now!
The line-up for the parade begins at 4:00 p.m. on the 17th at Parker Park, and the parade begins at 4:30 p.m. with traffic potentially being impacted along the route during the parade. Upon beginning at Parker Park, the route will travel to Fireweed Street, then down Redoubt Avenue toward the ‘Y’ with the parade dispersing onto the Sterling Highway.
Maddy McElrea, Soldotna Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, laid-out the plans for the annual parade.
“Our next event is Sweeney Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade will begin on Friday, March 17th: the lineup begins at 4:00 p.m. and the parade starts at 4:30p.m. The route will be the same as previous years, beginning at Parker Park travel to Firewood Street and down Redoubt towards the Y. There’s no need to sign up for this event just line up at 4:00 p.m. and join us for the parade.”
