Kardinals Shutout Bulldogs, Star Boys Fall To Ketchikan In Saturday Soccer

Peninsula Conference soccer featured the Kenai Kardinals paired against Nikiski on Saturday with the Kardinals recording a pair of conference victories.

 

Kenai Girls 11 – Nikiski Girls 0

The Kardinal girls lead 5-0 at the half in an 11-0 shutout of the Bulldogs.  First half goals were scored by Abby Castillo, Chloe Goldsby (2), Rylie Sparks, Ella Yragui.  Kenai recorded six, second half goals scored by Goldsby (2 for a total of four goals), Yragui, Maddie Malone (2),  and Valerie Villegas.

The Kardinal girls improve to 2-1-1 in conference play and 6-4-2 overall, while the Bulldogs drop to 0-5 in the Peninsula Conference and 0-8 overall.

 

Kenai Boys 13 – Nikiski Boys 0

The Kenai boys remain unbeaten in the Peninsula Conference with a 13-0 shutout of Nikiski on Saturday.

Kenai goal scorers included three-goal, hat tricks for Aloshia Cross and Carson Grimm; two goals for Enrique Mercado and single goals for Sawyer Vann, William Wilson, Gavin Langham, Cole Langham and Dresden Reith.

 

Ketchikan Boys 2 – SoHi 1

Two penalty shot goals for Ketchikan proved too much for the Soldotna Stars as SoHi dropped a 2-1 decision to the Kings in non-conference soccer on Saturday at SoHi.

Simon Willets scored the Stars lone goal on SoHi’s Senior Day at Justin Maile Field.
